Dr. Chinwe Ogedegbe, MD, MPH, MBA, FACEP
Professor of Emergency Medicine | Research Clinical Trials Expert | Transformational Leader in Health Equity and Innovation
Dr. Chinwe Ogedegbe, is an accomplished physician-scientist, Professor of Emergency Medicine, and clinical trials leader working at the intersection of emergency medicine, epidemiology, business strategy, and clinical trials. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, Nigeria, completed an Emergency Medicine residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, holds a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree from Columbia University-NY and most recently, an earned an MBA. She has over 25 years of Emergency Medicine clinical practice proficiency and more than 15 years of research experience.
She is the Founder and CEO of Intelligent Clinical Trials Solutions (iCTS) Holdings Inc., a physician-led clinical trials management company increasing global access to high-quality research, and also serves as Chief Medical Officer at VitalFlo Health. As a practicing emergency physician, she integrates frontline clinical insight with population-level data to address disparities in trial participation and shape inclusive research strategy.
Dr. Ogedegbe has led high-impact clinical trials and public health studies; also served as a study physician on numerous clinical trials and observational studies sponsored by both industry and government agencies, including Gilead Pharma, Siemens, KD Pharma, Enumeral Biotech, MediciNova, TEVA, CDC, NIH, PCORI, and the Department of Defense. She also served for 12 years as one of four physician-members on a large healthcare network’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), gaining deep expertise in ethical oversight, regulatory compliance, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Her work has encompassed protocol development, clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, and feasibility assessments for both research and service grants. As a board-certified Emergency Medicine specialist, she brings broad clinical and therapeutic expertise spanning hematology/oncology, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary pathology, neurology, autoimmune disease, women’s health, and more. Her strong background in clinical development and regulatory standards is invaluable, in her role as CEO at ICTS.
Previously at Hackensack Meridian Health, she served as Professor and Academic Vice Chair at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and Section Chief of Emergency Medicine Research at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, New Jersey.
Key contributions include:
• Developed the first Emergency Medicine Residency Research Curriculum within HMH
• Inaugural Academic Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine across HMH Network
• Led a CDC-funded COVID initiative using the NowPow referral platform across 10 Emergency Departments, within the Hackensack Meridian Health Network, in 2024
• Co-led the HMH team in achieving the first-ever in the US, Joint Commission Advanced Certification in Healthcare Equity (2023), part of the United States Joint Commission for Healthcare Quality Standards
• Secured over $9M in federal and state research funding at HMH; led major government & industry-sponsored studies
